SLASHDOT: The trouble with monopolies

NASA is a monopoly, one that is in a unique situation that is very hard to debate in terms of allowing more free market competition. I understand that the market doesn’t like spaceflight because there doesn’t seem to be a profit — yet. Of course, when computers were first built, there wasn’t much room for profit but it is my opinion that the competitive atmosphere of the computer market did more to facilitate cheap and common PCs than any government body did. For a New Liberty Hardcover

The Mises Institute is re-releasing Rothbard’s For a New Liberty in hardcover format for the first time since 71. They’re looking for donations to keep the price low. I’m trying to put up US$1000 myself, but if you’re interested in getting the words of liberty back in print, these guys are the ones to give to. The way I look at it, US$1000 is less than US$3 per day, about what I spend on coffee. To be part of this history, I am more than happy to give up my quality beans for junk for a year.
